Uluru also referred to as Ayers Rock is a large sandstone rock formation in the Northern Territory, This ancient landscape is Australia's iconic symbol and is listed in the UNESCO world heritage site. Ayers Rocks stand 348 metres tall and has a total circumference of 9.4 metres. Uluru takes a significant place in the Aboriginal indigenous culture and spirituality.
Indigenous Aboriginals believe that the landscape was created by their ancestors at the beginning of time therefore have been protecting this land ever since. |
LocationUluru also known as a Ayers Rock is located in the heart of Uluru- Kata Tjuta National Park in the southwestern corner of Australia's Northern Territory. It is also located to be the centre of Australia that lies 335km south west from the nearest town of Alice Springs.
